Refund Policy

This policy applies to refund requests submitted on or after the effective date.

1. Policy Overview

XD English (the "Company") operates this refund policy in accordance with Korean consumer dispute resolution standards and the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. By purchasing lesson credits, you are deemed to have agreed to this policy.

2. Refunds Before Lessons Begin

Full refund with no time limit

Lesson credits that have not been used for any lesson are fully refundable regardless of the payment date or credit term.

Unused lesson credits may be refunded through customer support or the My Page payment management screen, and the full payment amount will be cancelled through the original payment method. If points were used, the point portion is not included in the original-payment-method refund and may be restored as points under the applicable policy.

3. Refunds After Lessons Begin

Once at least one lesson has been used, the refundable amount is calculated by subtracting the standard undiscounted price for the used lessons from the amount actually paid.

Refund amount = amount paid - (standard undiscounted lesson price x number of lessons used)

If fewer than 50% of total lessons remain, self-service cancellation is restricted and the refund must be handled through customer support.

4. Non-Refundable Cases

  • When an event or promotional product clearly states that it is non-refundable
  • When service access is restricted due to the member's fault

5. Lesson Cancellation and No-Show Policy

Lesson cancellation by the member

  • Cancellation at least 24 hours before lesson start: 100% credit restoration
  • Cancellation from 24 hours to 1 hour before lesson start: free credit restoration up to 2 times per month
  • Cancellation from 24 hours to 1 hour before lesson start after the monthly 2 free restorations: the credit is restored and handled as a make-up lesson
  • Cancellation within 1 hour of lesson start or no-show: the lesson credit is deducted

No-Show Policy

If a student does not attend a scheduled lesson without prior notice, the lesson credit is deducted. If there is a justifiable reason, please contact customer support.

Cancellation Attributable to the Teacher

If a lesson cannot proceed due to a teacher's personal circumstances, network issue, or other teacher-attributable reason, the lesson credit is restored 100% and a compensation lesson is provided.

6. Refund Processing Time

The TossPayments approval is cancelled immediately when the cancellation is processed, and card issuer refund posting typically takes 3 to 5 business days.

7. PayPal Payment Refunds

For PayPal payments, please request a refund at support@xdenglish.net. We process requests within 5 business days after receipt.

8. How to Request a Refund

  1. Request a refund from My Page > Payment Management
  2. Or contact customer support by phone or email
  3. Submit the refund reason and required order information
  4. After the refund is processed, the original payment method is cancelled or the refund is posted

10. Policy Changes

This refund policy may be revised due to changes in applicable law or service policy. If changes are made, the Company will provide prior notice through website announcements.
